(For the 2026-2027 season, Alter students presenting a Student ID will get free admission to ONE performance of each show in our season, for a total of 3 free tickets. We invite & encourage Alter students to attend the student preview performance, which is typically the night before opening night. Alter students who would like to attend a performance OTHER than the student preview should contact Mrs. Sears for assistance with obtaining a ticket for their preferred performance.)

We are so grateful for your support of our students through the FUND FOR THE CASTLE PLAYERS. This fund assists with our ongoing production needs and opportunities for student growth. The donation link is at the bottom of this page or optional at check out when purchasing tickets. Thank you for your consideration!

TICKET REFUND/EXCHANGE POLICY: While we cannot offer refunds on ticket purchases, we would be happy to exchange your tickets into another performance of the same show, as availability permits. Please call (937) 660-8976 or email altercastleplayers@alterhs.org for assistance with exchanging your tickets. If exchanging is not an option, we encourage you to sell or give your tickets to friends/family first, so that others may enjoy our performances! But you are also welcome to give them to the Box Office where we may use them at our discretion. Doing so as early as possible allows us time to redistribute the tickets to patrons on our waiting list, as our productions tend to sell out. Thank you for your cooperation & support!

Dear Evan Hansen

Tony Award-winning book by Steven Levenson

Score by Grammy®, Tony®, Emmy® and Academy Award® winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul

Alter Production:

Directed & Choreographed by Megan Wean Sears

Seventeen-year-old Evan Hansen has felt invisible his entire life. But when a tragedy shocks his community and thrusts him into the center of a rapidly evolving controversy, Evan is given the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to be somebody else. As his web of well-intentioned lies begins to unravel, though, Evan is forced to confront the fact that the price of belonging may be far steeper than he bargained for. Join us for this (multi) Tony Award-winning musical making its Ohio high school debut right here at Alter.

Please note that the characters of DEAR EVAN HANSEN deal very heavily with very serious mental health issues that may be triggers for those who suffer or know someone who does. Be aware that we fully understand the triggering nature of this subject matter, and at the same time, recognize the need to portray these characters with honesty. DEAR EVAN HANSEN is best suited for teens and adults due to mature themes, including mental health, anxiety, depression, suicide, grief, and discussions of death. Parents/guardians may wish to review the content before bringing younger children.

Our theater features three-sided, raked seating, with each row elevated above the one in front of it. Row A is on the floor and closest to the stage, while Row H is the highest row and offers some of the best sightlines in the house. Seat 1 in all sections/rows is an aisle seat. In Section 103 only (very center), seat 9 in all rows is also an aisle seat.

Only individual seats can be purchased through BookTix. If you are interested in reserving a SUITE for any of our performances throughout the season, please contact Megan Sears at megan.sears@alterhs.org with your preferred performance and date. There are 2 suites available per performance, and they sell quickly, so requesting early is recommended! Suites are $275, seat 8 people, and come with show-themed food & drink. Note that all suites for Dear Evan Hansen are already sold out, but suites are still available for our winter and spring productions!

If you are looking for the link to purchase a season pass (which gives you a ticket to each show in our 2026-2027 season), please return to the home page (alterhs.booktix.com). Links for Adult season passes and Senior/Student/Military season passes will be available there until September 16.
